Toddler rooms don’t always have to be bright and bold to feel youthful. A recent project for a lucky little boy in Miami proves this.

A crisp light blue (but not baby blue!) is used on the wall to give a modern and fresh look.  To bring interest into the space I used simple Geometric patterns like stripes and triangles.  More geometric patterns are carried throughout with 4 large circle rugs from Ikea. A design trick— use carpet tape to adhere the back sides of multiple rugs is a great low-cost solution for a large space.

By adding some “grown-up” elements such as the star burst mirror (below) allows the space to feel mature yet playful–and also helps the room age with the child.

A focal wall is created by using Triangular wall decals from one of my favorite sources—Urban Walls and the whole area is accented with a White Faux Taxidermy elephant head. Playful, modern and chic—and all for a 3 year old!

Are you in love with this design as much as I am?! Check out this Sherwin Williams color story to help you get started with the same look.
