Spring is coming…Spring is coming!  The season that leads to warm weather, green grass and usually (for me anyways) an overhaul of my wardrobe to make way for the new spring fashions! In honor of spring why not give a room in your house a seasonal facelift too. Nothing says “ bring on the warm weather” like a roomful of bold colors!

When using bright colors it’s best to focus on three design principles: focal point, repetition and balance. Keeping your main walls a warm neutral color lets the furniture be the focal point without overwhelming the space. If choosing a bold colorful piece like the sectional below creating visual balance is a must! Try pairing it with a more delicate item such as the coffee table or console. Repetition is also extremely important. Stick to a 2 or 3 color scheme, and reuse the same tones throughout the space in different quantities. This will help lead the eye around the space without becoming too overwhelming!

Don’t want to overhaul an entire space? Try adding a few bright accents to bring new life without breaking the bank. Below are some of my favorite options!

A. Trina Turk, Painterly Plaid Embroidered Linen Pillow. $130

B. Jonathan Adler, Turquoise Newport Pillow $98

C. Target, Decorative Damask Square Toss pillow $25

A. Currey & Co, Upbeat Orange Table Lamp, $326

B.Ballard Designs, Devon Table Lamp in Papaya, $229

C. Target, Gourd Lamp, $32.99

And one last rule… how could I forget!? Don’t be afraid of color! Follow these simple rules and you will have your space spruced up for spring in no time!

Sincerely,
Allison
