Dark greens, blues and grays are filling our Pinterest boards. The notion that we need to play it safe in the kitchen has gone by the wayside. Now more than ever the kitchen is the heart of the home and a place where people want to showcase their design style and unique tastes. With online cabinet makers and box stores like Ikea selling kitchens, people no longer have to spend a fortune on cabinetry.

Here are a few of our favorite blues. Adding blue to a kitchen makes it feel crisp, fresh and modern. We love the idea of these blues paired with light wood tones and chrome fixtures.
