Think outside of the box this V-day! Instead of buying chocolates or flowers for your other half why not revamp your bedroom and make it a place where you can spend some serious QT together. A few quick changes can take your room from blah to oh-la-la. Check out these
7 ways to update your bedroom for Valentine’s Day!
1. Lighting. Nothing is less sexy than a bright overhead light shining down on all our imperfections. Add in some soft mood lighting to give ambiance to the space. I am currently loving this tortoise shell inspired one from Circa Lighting–because, well ANIMAL PRINT!
2. Sheets + Bedding. Get cozy with this soft comfy bedding at the end of a day. One of my current favorites is this embroidered black + white option from Dwell Studio. I love it so much I am using it in our master bedroom!
3. Drapery. Pull the shades and sleep in extra late with your bae this Valentine’s Day. Great quality curtains not only keep the light out they help to keep the toasty warm heat in. COZY! Try these luxurious velvet curtains from West Elm with a blackout liner!
4. A New Scent. Scent is one of the senses we tend to forget when it comes to the design of our spaces. But it makes a huge impact on how we feel! Swap out an old candle for a new interesting one. This champagne scented candle from my fav JA is sure to make you feel all giggly and romantic.
5. A Romantic Color. In need of a big change? I always say paint is the quickest way to make an impact. Try using a blush pink (which is right in line with one half of Patone’s color of the year duo). Use Farrow and Ball’s Ground Pink 202 for a mature yet dreamy bedroom.
6. Plush Throws + Pillows. Upgrade your old pillows for ones that pack more pattern and punch. I love mixing soft romantic patterns with solid bold colors and animal inspired prints. Check out this mix from one of my favorite Etsy sources for throw pillows. Mix in a plush fur throw to add another layer of romantic texture. I love this fur throw from world market!
7. Personalized Art. Forget that generic off-the-shelf art. There are so many options for personalized art to reflect you and your lovers unique relationship. I love the Etsy shop UshatovArtandDesign and their beautiful artistic interpretations of photographs of important moments.
Afew quick changes in your bedroom can make your bedroom feel like a new and exciting place for you and your other half. Try implementing one or all of them for a nice change for Valentine’s Day.
