You don’t have to install expensive, custom built-in cabinetry to get a custom looking work station in your home office, living room or kitchen. Just install upper cabinetry 18″ above one of your favorite desks and top it off with some swing arm sconces.
For this look I used simple Ikea Cabinetry in white, some basic industrial hardware in black from Home Depot and some plug-in (no electrician required!) sconces from Ikea. My client had an existing desk to work around, but there are so many great options that would fit this look—like this Campaign Desk from World Market. It gives just the right contrast between the modern white cabinets and industrial hardware.
All at a total cost of less than $500 bucks! A custom look for a completely reasonable cost!
