A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to spend a few days in Riga, Latvia. Living in Scandinavia the past few years put this Baltic city on my “must see” list and I am SO happy to finally check it off.
I love spending vacations aimlessly wandering through side streets and local shops in search of product, design and scenery that inspire me. In Riga, Europe’s “Capital of Culture” for 2014, I was lucky enough to find all three! I stumbled upon a small booth set up in a city square featuring Juilja Podzina Porcelain and I. AM. CAPTIVATED.
I love how these everyday items are transformed into art objects. I wanted to purchase everything in the entire booth but unfortunately was limited by the weight restrictions of my impending flight. I settled on a small textured white porcelain vessel and called it a day.
Not long after I was having some serious remorse about NOT capturing one of these gold-studded coffee mugs while I had the chance. Seriously—how can you drink coffee without one of these!?
