One of my favorite spaces to design for my clients is the bedroom. I love the endless opportunities for soft textiles, layers of patterns and creating cozy and functional spaces. Come take a peek inside a boho-chic bedroom that I just wrapped-up for a client!
AN EASY BOHO-CHIC BEDROOM
Start with a Bright White Base
This bedroom is part of a 900 square foot cottage overhaul we just completed (can’t wait to share more because it will have you drooling!). In order to brighten everything up and let the design selections shine we decided to go with a bright white for all the walls. Although I have a running list of favorites we went with Benjamin Moore Decorators White for this particular job.
Add Natural Elements
I am in love with these end tables! They are the perfect balance of clean lines mixed with warm natural texture–the perfect combo for any boho-chic space.
Mix Old and New
A boho-chic space should feel collected over time and (like any space really) should be a reflection of the people living in it. The best way to achieve this is to mix old and new elements to create a space that feels gathered over time. In this project we needed to update the lighting and add some much needed ventilation to the room. This fan was the perfect solution –and not to mention so extremely stylish for a ceiling fan!
To bring in a vintage vibe we made a wall hanging out of some thrifted 70’s baskets. Not only are they the perfect scale but they add texture and charm to the room that would be hard to find from a new retail source!
Inject Some Color
A successful boho space definitely needs some color. We tried to keep it minimal by injecting a few thoughtful colors through the area rug and accent pillows.
More often than not the bedroom is the last place busy parents chose to address, because it’s easy to just close the door and avoid having anyone see it. But it’s important to have a relaxing and adult space to retreat to at the end of the day. Follow these quick tips and you can have an easy boho-chic bedroom in no time!
