Lately a lot of my projects have included some amazing kitchen + bath remodels. This has led to endless hours digging around the depths of the internet to find the perfect tile that will add style without breaking the bank.
Through my hours of research I have put together a list of my favorite tiles for under $10 a square foot!
A. Merola Tile Twenties Vintage. At only $1.98 per tile this beauty is a steal of a deal! It gives you the look of an authentic encaustic tile at a fraction of the cost! I love it so much I used it in this recent bathroom reno!
B. Merola Tile Twenties Diamond Merola tile is basically killing it with this series and I have yet to find a tile that I don’t like. I wanted this one badly for our mudroom but the hubby vetoed so I used it on another bath reno this summer instead. To say I am jealous of that client’s shower is an understatement.

C. Metallic Penny Porcelain. It is nearly impossible to find any metallic tile in this price range. Add this reason to a very long list of why I love BuilderDepot.com. Check out what I used from them in my own master bath.
D. Leonia Silver Subway Mosaic. You just can’t go wrong with this tile in my opinion. It is clean, simple and somehow classic + modern at the same time. A perfect addition to any bath, kitchen or laundry room!
E. Merola Tile Agadir Negro. Here goes Merola kicking butt again. I LOVE these tiles. I picture them installed in bathroom running floor to ceiling along the back wall. Anyone want me to design your bathroom with these bad boys?! At $3.81 a square foot you can’t go wrong!
F. Venatino Polished Subway Tile. This tile is a timeless classic. It can go super modern or traditional depending on what you pair it with. If the price point of $9.98/sq foot feels on the high end of your comfort zone, then pair it with a more reasonably priced tile and use it only has an accent or inlay.
G. Merola Metro Basketweave . The perfect selection for a vintage house in need of a era-appropriate tile upgrade.
H. Riverrock Pebbles. I know, I know. This ones seems kind of out of left field right? But I just love something about the organic feel coupled with the totally monochromatic scheme of the stones. Usually when you think river rock you think all shades of brown in a log cabin bathroom. But this has the potentially to transform a bath into a totally modern + zen space.
I. Chevron Chic Mini Chevron. Chevron has been around for a while, but this take on it feels updated and re-energized. I love the natural color and texture juxtaposed to the geometric shapes.
Do you have an upcoming project where tile selection will be on your to-do list? Hopefully these few picks can narrow down some of the options for you! But if you are currently reading this, feeling overwhelmed, in the tile section at Lowes then why don’t you shoot me an email— we can chat about working together!
Sincerely,
Allison
