Over the last few years, we’ve seen wall decor trend towards abstract canvas style artwork and gallery walls. But we’ve been seeing a shift lately and lots of large statement pieces have been catching our eye.
As we predicted in our 2019 Trends, those statement pieces are going to showcase a lot of ‘moody’ photography. These are often gorgeous landscapes or large scale vistas, contrast portraits of people or objects. Despite their vivid nature, the vague generality of these prints makes them act as a ‘neutral’ when it comes to wall decor.
Do you have a wall in need of some large scale loving? Take a peek at our favorites.
TREND ALERT: MOODY PHOTOGRAPHY
Elan Alvarez Sherman’s Hidden Gem 2 on Minted
Hazed Mountain High by Emmy Hagen at Minted
Heading North by Lupen Grainne at Pottery Barn
Misty Mountain 5 by Kate Schermerhorn at Restoration Hardware
These pieces create drama but remain neutral, and in some cases almost monochromatic. Unlike some recent trends in wall decor of the last few years, we love moody photography for being both powerful and understated.
Ready to add some wall decor…or have these landscapes inspired an overhaul? We’ve got a package for that. We work locally with clients in Marquette, MI and virtually with clients around the world!
Sincerely,
Allison
