Neutral living spaces don’t have to be boring and bland spaces. When done right they can be warm and inviting spaces. Check out these neutral living room design ideas to help you pull off a neutral and stylish space!

1. USE TEXTURE. Adding layers of various texture is a great way to add visual interest to an otherwise monochromatic space. In this room a plush pile of pillows on the sofa creates a warm an cozy environment while the color stays in the same neutral family.
2. ADD A POP OF COLOR. Pick one color you love and highlight it. Keeping all the other furnishings and textiles in the neutral family will really allow your accent piece to make a big statement. In this living room a bright blue chair demands attention amidst all the other cream and brown tones.

1. PLAY WITH PATTERN. Another great way to infuse interest into a neutral color scheme is through pattern. Play with mixing and matching patterns to add interest into the space. Focus on unity through pattern style, selecting various scales and prints of with in that same pattern family. In this living room a number of different geometric patterns are combined to create visual interest.
2. VARIOUS SHADES OF COLOR. Another great way to add variety and interest into a monochromatic scheme is to use variations of the same color throughout the space. This will help you keep the color scheme consistent, monochromatic and beautifully neutral. The easiest way to do this is to select the color that you want to use and get the full paint strip from the store. Go either two shades lighter or two shades darker to add a contrasting yet consistent color into your scheme.
