In the true spirit of the start-stop-delay-resume renovation schedule of Covid supply chain issues, we have a BOOM of project reveals rolling in for our (oh-so-patient) clients and we are excited to share!

The Before.

While this space was relatively new (compared to a lot of the early 1900’s homes we work on) it was definitely a bit lackluster. The client wanted to create a space that felt light, bright, and beachy…but was hoping for a more elegant and modern approach to “lakehouse”. She was struggling with the asymmetrical fireplace that became an awkward focal point in the space and made ideal TV placement tricky.

The Plan.

Our biggest challenge in this space was addressing the fireplace wall. We opted for a subtle focal point by paneling the entire wall in tambour paneling and painting it all the wall color. We created a custom faux beam to go across the length the entire wall to create some unity between the different sections. We modernized the mantle by creating a streamline waterfall piece and inlaying a brightly colored tile inside of it.

For furniture we planned first to create a more neutral base in the condo by painting everything a subtle color as well as replacing the flooring with a bleached oak look LVT. On top of that we planned to layer textured pieces of furniture with warm wood and brass details. Several shades of blue and green were used throughout to create an upscale coastal vibe.

PROJECT REVEAL: CANE LIVING

How did it all come together? In 2021 adjusted terms…exceptionally fast. We started this project in June and wrapped the final photoshoot 2nd week of December. Check out all the textured goodness of the Cane Living Room::
