Master bedrooms are some of our favorite projects.  Majority of our jobs tend to be in the public spaces (kitchens, living rooms etc.) but there is something that feels so important about creating a comfortable retreat space for someone. Check out what we completed for a recent client.

The Before.

Talk about a blank slate. These clients were upgrading from a much smaller city apartment to their forever-home in the Northwoods. That meant we had some serious space to fill to round out this space.

The Plan.

Go dark or go home. We wanted this  space to feel cozy and maybe the tiniest bit sexy. Throwing paint up on the walls didn’t feel like enough to fill this large wall so we opted for vertical shiplap all painted out in the same color as the walls. To make the room feel even more cozy we took the ceiling from basic white to a light green/gray.

On top of the dark walls we layered bright crisp furnishings and window treatments that would create contrast. From the lamp to the accenet bench, we opted for selections with tons of texture and interest. Custom pillows help round out the color scheme.

Take a look at how the Northwoods Chic bedroom came together. And if you are loving the dark color but are feeling hesitant be sure to check out our 3 Reasons Why You Should Go Bold in the Bedroom.
