PROJECT REVEAL: WEST CRESCENT KITCHEN

Kitchens are some of our favorite spaces to design. The ability to blend aesthetic and function is unmatched when it comes to kitchen renovations. We ESPECIALLY love designing kitchens for wonderful deserving clients who are not afraid of color or pattern!

THE BEFORE.

This kitchen had served is purpose and was ready for a major upgrade. From a functional standpoint we needed to create a bit better flow (there was a huge pinch point at the back entry). Work space was also in short supply, which made it difficult for two people to cook in the space at once. On top of all of this, the space was not well insulated and was chilly! More functional layout and a cozier environment were top on the list of must haves!

THE PLAN.

Minor layout reconfiguration allowed us to push the fridge down a bit and alleviate that pinch point. It also freed up new counter space that previously did not exist. To address the cold space we insulated exterior walls, replaced exterior doors and added electric baseboard heat below the dining alcove.

We shifted the range down a bit to allow for prep space on both sides. This allows someone to be at the range and at the sink at the same time without having to share counter space. Wood cabinetry for the lowers and pantry add warmth to the space. White uppers and subway tile add brightness to the space.

Wallpaper and a ceiling mounted shelf add a ton of personality to the back entry space– and bonus the hanging shelf creates privacy while still letting in light and adding storage!
