In rooms with lots of design decisions that are meant to be long-term, finishes like hardware and kitchen faucets are a place where we can make bold decisions because they are easier to change down the line.
A couple friendly reminders before you get overwhelmed looking at all the amazing choices there are for faucets:
- Its ok to mix metal finishes in your kitchen
- In general, keep it simple; try not to incorporate more than 2-3 different metallic tones.
- If you do choose a second finish, always make sure to have a contrast metal repeated in one other place in the kitchen. For example: try lighting and hardware in your accent accent finish with a stainless sink and appliances.
Before you make a final decision on your faucet, consider the overall style of your kitchen and then stick with that look for your faucet.
To help you out, we’ve separated our favorites into categories: Transitional looks for those of us bridging the gap between modern and traditional, Modern for those who prefer clean and sleek and some choices with detailed lines more Traditional kitchens.
KITCHEN FAUCETS WE ARE LOVING RIGHT NOW
TRANSITIONAL
For a transitional look go for a faucet with a touch of detail to contrast otherwise sleek lines.
Royden Pull-Down from Signature Hardware We love the subtle fluting of the nozzle and the rose gold color of course!
Edison Pull-Down by VIGO from Wayfair Vigo has a lot of great transitional options. The exposed coil of the Edison Pull down are sure to add interest to your sink.
Sombra by Moen Sombra is a classic choice. The brushed nickel finish combined with its understated lines make it a great choice for a transitional space.
MODERN
Modern faucets have a sleek and streamlined look. Look for something that has simple lines that carry through the entire form of the faucet.
Purist by Kohler Purist line by Kohler is one of our absolute favorites for a modern kitchen or bath. So much so that we used in our own master reno.
Trinsic Pull-Down by Delta from Wayfair Delta Trinsic is the perfect simple form, and has a great matte black finish—a new trend we are seeing in kitchens.
STo Pull-Down by Moen from Wayfair We love the look of the square base of the Moen STo Faucet mixed with its simple high arc faucet. A perfect choice for a modern kitchen renovation.
TRADITIONAL
Traditional faucets are going to have slightly more detail in their design. Think fluted nozzles, soft arcs, and detail trim.
Brushed Rose Gold Faucet on EBay We love the shape of the arc of this faucet mixed with the Rose gold color of course!
Valdosta by Delta at Lowe’s This brushed brasss finish, soft arc and detailed fluting would be the perfect finish to a dark navy kitchen.
